Triathlon nutrition coaching / Food and training
Your food, written by the coach who writes your training. Each day's carbs are worked out from the session on it and the meals are set for you, so you get leaner while you get fitter.
Why food matters
Triathlon training makes you hungry. A long ride, a brick session, an early swim before work: it adds up, and without a plan the food tends to go one of two ways. Too little, and the sessions suffer. Too much, and you train for months without getting any leaner.
On race day it matters even more: over a long race, what you take on during the bike shapes how the run goes.
Plenty of coaching stops at the session and leaves you to work out the rest. At Skulpt, the same coach writes your food and your training, so the two are planned together.
Shane built it that way. He is an Ironman finisher and a physique competitor, so getting race fit and in shape at the same time is exactly what he coaches.
Train. Eat. Check in.
How it works
Carbohydrate is the main fuel for long and hard sessions, so it makes sense for it to rise and fall with your training. That is how your days are set.
Each day is a low, medium or high carb day, worked out from the training on it.
Your coach sets the meals for each kind of day. Tick them off in the app as you eat them.
Race day gets its own plan: fuelling hour by hour, with your total carbs and fluid.
Your weight and front, side and back photos every week. Your coach replies, and the plan moves with you.

Questions
Both. Your coach sets the meals for each kind of day, and the app shows the protein, carbs and fat you've eaten so far that day.
No. Low, medium and high carb days each have their own meals, and which one you're on depends on the training that day.
Your weekly check in: your weight and front, side and back photos, with any two weeks side by side in the app.
No. Your carb days are worked out from your training, so the food fuels the sessions while you get in shape, and race day fuelling is planned in the app too.
The same coach who writes your training. That is the idea Skulpt was built on.
Race day has its own plan in the app: fuelling hour by hour, total carbs and fluid, and a brief from your coach. More on the long races on Ironman coaching and 70.3 coaching.
